juste pour rire: le 22 juin

OK not so much something funny as something eye-catching...

...I did find it cute though, that they drew a protective circle around themselves, as if to say, Hey! this is OUR part of the beach, now beat it!

juste pour rire: le 21 juin

Near the beginning of our walking tour, on a pedestrian street: rue Ste-Melaine, we saw this exquisite parking job... keep in mind, this is a PEDESTRIAN STREET...

After the nuptials of Philippe et Didier at the abbey church of Notre-Dame-en-Saint-Melaine...

juste pour rire: le 20 juin

It's really hard to explain just WHY we are both smiling so much in this picture, but the short story is...
It was taken by Didier's father after what seemed like five minutes (but I'm sure it was less) of explaining not so much HOW a camera worked, rather which side was the front, which was the back and in what direction you must hold the camera so that you take a picture of the desired subject, and not your own face...

I guess a day at the sea-side with an Anglo from Canada was just too much... heh

juste pour rire - le 16 juin

Le Génie de la Liberté, au Place de la Bastille, as performed by Le Didier.

Les Trois Soeurs Gorgon, as performed by Le Didier et Deux Portes en Bois.

Quasimodo.

There was this guy at Notre Dame that all afternoon was scaring the Merde out of girls and guys alike, but mostly girls. It's incredible how just unaware people are, especially in tourist situations. He was able to hold hands, take things very casually out of people's hands, put his arms around people... When they'd slowly turn, expecting to see their husbands, boyfriends, lovers etc they would freak-out! We enjoyed watching this the entire time we waited in line for the Notre Dame Towers tour. It seemed this guy just did it for fun, he did not ask for any money. Very amusing!

Un chapeau très joli.

Paris Is Burning.

And no I'm not talking about the documentary on drag ball culture in NYC back in the 90's, I mean Paris IS burning. When we were leaving Sacré Coeur, I noticed some smoke in the skyline... An apartment building in the Marais.

Trash in the streets.

You know back here in Montréal, you'll see old newspapers, Coke cans, cigarette butts... BUT, in Paris you find empty Veuve Clicquot...

juste pour rire - pont alexandre III

I know what you're thinking... either he's witnessing someone fall off the bridge, OR, he needs to check his meds. Well, you're hot and you're cold. I saw a yellow ladybug on the railing of the bridge and was 'encouraging' it to fly away... little did I know that Didier was taking a picture at that very moment...
